“Together for a Shared Future” Winter Olympics-Themed DIY Engineering Innovation and Labor Practice Activities Were Successfully Held

On the morning of March 19, the “Together for a Shared Future” Winter Olympics-themed DIY engineering innovation and labor practice activity jointly organized by XUTELI School/ School of Future Technologies, BIT, and the Engineering Training National Demonstration Center for Experimental Edu was held in Liangxiang Campus. 30 students from XUTELI School /School of Future Technologies in the 2021 class signed up to participate in the practical project. Huang Biao, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Professor Fu Tie, Director of the Center, Professor Xue Qing, a National Model Teacher, Feng Huihua, Executive Deputy Dean of XUTELI School/ School of Future Technologies, and Zhao Hao, Deputy Dean, participated in the event.


The students were divided into three groups, who carried out innovative practices on the topics of reverse engineering, laser processing, and additive manufacturing. With the theme of students' concern, the practical activities revolved around the Winter Olympic mascots "Bing Dun Dun and Xue Rong Rong", with intelligent manufacturing and advanced processing technology practice as the core, and comprehensively invoked modern manufacturing technology to realize the digital design of cultural and creative works. The activities run through multiple basic literacy practice modules such as 3D model design, engineering drawing, special processing, and 3D printing rapid prototyping. Empowering new forms of engineering innovation and labor practice activities.


Prof. Xue Qing, Prof. Zhao Bin from the Advanced Processing Institute, and Prof. Han Yafeng from the Institute of Electromechanical Systems and Equipment expanded the content of practical activities in-depth and breadth from a professional perspective in the form of a "small class on cutting-edge technology". The National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center led the students to understand and perceive the charm of modern manufacturing technology, comprehend and comprehend the Chinese national aesthetic education spirit contained in the works, and experience the craftsman spirit and practical labor spirit in fine work.
