In order to further complete the collaborative cultivation mechanism and promote the cultivation system construction for the school’s top-notch innovative talents, on the morning of January 12, a joint meeting of deans in academies and colleges for collaborative cultivating the top-notch innovative talents was held in BIT. Zhang Jun, the principal of BIT attended the meeting. Heads of relevant departments and colleges joined in the meeting.

Zhang Jun pointed out that the school has further promoted the reform of education and teaching and the cultivation quality of talents has been improved recently. Stepping into a new stage, we must accelerate the “double first-class” construction, and strive to cultivate leading talents. We must emancipate our minds more, raise our position， adhere to the fundamental task of “fostering virtues through education”, firmly establish the “teaching first” value orientation and strengthen all staff, all-round and whole-process education.

Zhang Jun emphasized that it was necessary to keep in mind the original intention and mission of cultivating talents for the party and the country, combined with the inspection and rectification tasks of the central government, pay close attention to the implementation of responsibilities and further strengthen the collaborative cultivation of top-notch innovative talents in academies and colleges.

Zhang Jun said that XUTELI School would promote the reform systematically and play a key role in demonstrating, leading and driving, as the “demonstration field” for the school’s education and teaching reform and the “pioneering zone” to lead the cultivation of the school’s top-notch innovative talents.

The participants discussed about several topics such as collaborative cultivation of academies and colleges, the cultivation management mode of top-notch innovative talents, collaborative promotion of the cultivation reform of engineering, science, liberal arts and management talents, and comprehensive cultivation for undergraduates, masters and doctorates, and put forward a series of suggestions.
