The Seminar on Engineering Practice Class Group and Teaching Reform Was Successfully Held



In order to create the progressive innovative practice system combining research and practice, a seminar on engineering practice class group construction and teaching reform was held on January 10 at Ground Mobility Experimental Teaching Center of Mechanical Engineering in Liang Xiang Campus. Xiao Xuan and Chen Hao, Deputy Ministers of Department of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, Li Xing, Deputy Director of Office of National Assets and Laboratory Management, Huang Biao, Deputy Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering, Xue Qing, the responsible professor of School of Mechanical Engineering, Feng Huihua, Executive Deputy Dean of XUTELI School/School of Future Technologies, Shi Jianwei, Deputy Dean of XUTELI School and relevant teachers participated in the seminar, chaired by Zhao Hao.


Li Zhongxin, Deputy Director of Ground Mobility Experimental Teaching Center of Mechanical Engineering, introduced teaching system planning of engineering practice class group, summarized and analyzed the overall implementation of the reform of the engineering practice teaching system under the previous general cultivation mode, and focused on the modular practice project design supporting the flexible cultivation of practical abilities. Based on the previous practical teaching experience, engineering practice courses such as “Typical Unmanned System Engineering Practice” and “Application Engineering Practice of Intelligent Electromechanical System” would be offered in the next semester for XUTELI School/School of Future Technologies, in order to stimulate the students’ innovative ability, cultivate their interests and consolidate their professional knowledge.


The participating experts conducted deep discussions on the engineering practice class group. They believed that the design of the practice class group was a beneficial exploration of the implementation of practical teaching and an extension of feasible ways and methods for collaborative cultivation of academies and colleges under general cultivation mode, guided by the cross-disciplinary application, focusing on typical unmanned technologies and platforms such as unmanned vehicles, intelligent robots, and unmanned aerial vehicles, and integrating deeply practical, ideological and labor cultivation, which has achieved remarkable results in stimulating learning interests of lower-grade undergraduates and promoting their multiple abilities and qualities. Feasible ways and methods for the collaborative practice of the academy to educate people. At the same time, they put forward expectations for the construction of practice class group combined with the school’s first-class practice course construction planning, shared practice teaching platform construction, the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents and collaborative cultivation of academies and colleges.


Feng Huihua expressed his gratitude for the support of Ground Mobility Experimental Teaching Center of Mechanical Engineering and professional schools. He hoped to introduce superior interdisciplinary resources, open sharing resource platform, attract outstanding young teachers to participate and form a leading role, taking the relevant course reform of the Center as a benchmark and highlighting the advanced, challenging and innovative characteristics of the engineering practice course design.


At the same time, the participating experts reviewed the project construction of Ground Mobility Experimental Teaching Center of Mechanical Engineering and put forward constructive opinions, hoping the course design of the practice class group closely focused on “Intelligent Unmanned +” field, fully stimulate students’ innovative abilities and lay a solid foundation for the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents.
