On November 1, Wu Feng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and an outstanding professor at the Beijing Institute of Technology, was invited to give a lecture on the course "Introduction to Future Technology" of the School of Future Technologies, BIT, and to give an academic report on "Research Progress in New Secondary Batteries and Their Key Materials", More than 90 students listened to the report.

In the class, Academician Wu Feng started with a short story, inspiring students to diverge their thinking, not to think about things with established values, but to embrace the future with an innovative thinking mode.  Academician Wu specifically proposed the multi-dimensional synergistic effect based on the new system of light element multi-electron multi-ion battery, the solidification of electrolytes, all-green secondary battery and smart battery.  He pointed out that when the chip enters the battery, the emergence of the smart battery will subvert the structure of the battery system and further improve the safety and reliability of the battery, becoming an important part of the intelligence of new energy vehicles and energy storage systems.

After class, the students interacted with Academician Wu Feng and discussed the future development direction of new secondary batteries. The student representatives of the 2022 Future Technology Class sent flowers to Academician Wu Feng to express their gratitude and respect.

Academician Wu Feng's lectures are fascinating, revealing to us the specific principles of different types of batteries, explaining the status quo of diversified energy sources, and looking forward to the future energy development trend.  His professionalism and vision are admirable and respectful, and I was fascinated by the world of battery energy he portrayed.

At the same time, Academician Wu Feng asked us a thought-provoking question: We are living in the present, what is the goal of studying in school?  I think it is to undertake our responsibilities in the new era, to study deeper and harder, and to keep striving for the grand goal of the future.

I will uphold this will to achieve myself and serve the country.

Class 2222 Zhou Xin:

As a leader in the field of battery research in China, academician Wu Feng not only introduced us in detail to the major scientific research progress and problems in his research but also encouraged us to devote ourselves to scientific research and serve the country through his own experience and that of his students.  I took notes carefully, asked Academician Wu questions, and was honoured to get the academician's signature and group photo.  Through this report, I have strengthened my determination to study hard and serve the country through scientific research in the future.
